Gerrit Cole, Sean Manea and Jose Berrios have led Matt & Zach Patchell and High Cheese back to the top of the SFRRC Fantasy Baseball League power poll entering Week 4.
But it’s more than the starting rotation. The bullpen has also been very good, led by Edwin Diaz, Aroldis Chapman and . Let’s dig into the numbers to get a better perspective for just how good this pitching staff has been over the first three weeks of the season.
Diaz is tied for second in the league with eight net saves/holds. Cole has for quality starts in four attempts while Manea has four quality starts in five attempts. High Cheese has yet to lose the Net Saves/Holds or WHIP categories over the first three weeks. The staff is fourth in innings pitched, second in team ERA, second in WHIP, fifth in K/9, tied for second in quality starts and they lead the league with 24 Net Saves/Holds.
That’s some dominating pitching.
Week 4 Power Poll
The Menehunes have five hitters ranked in the league’s Top 50 players though the first three weeks, led by second baseman Jed Lowrie. In 102 plate appearances, Lowrie has a 1.008 OPS with 23 RBI and 12 runs scored. He’s tied for the league lead in RBI and is tied for fifth in plate appearances.
Infielder Asdrubal Cabrera has a .998 OPS in his first 87 plate appearances while third baseman Christian Villanueva has a 1.219 OPS in 72 plate appearances.
The Menehunes are getting it done with volume. They are third in the league with 899 plate appearances, tied for third in runs scored with 109 and they are second with 109 RBI. They are doing all of this with a .737 OPS, which ranks 10th overall.
The one team that can challenge High Cheese on the mound is A-Rod’s Mirrors. Patrick Corbin has struck out 48 batters in 33.1 innings and is currently the league’s second-ranked player.
Justin Verlander has four quality starts in five attempts for the Mirrors with a 1.10 ERA and 0.77 WHIP. Verlander is ranked seventh overall in the player rankings.
The Mirrors are ranked second in innings pitched, first in team ERA, first in WHIP, and first in quality starts. The team’s pitching is a big reason they are ranked second behind High Cheese in the current league Power Poll and second in team pitching.

Johnny Cueto (JetSetters) was the top-rated pitcher in Week 3 while Manny Machado (A-Rod’s Mirrors) was the top-rated hitter. Cueto pitched 13 scoreless innings on the week, earning a pair of quality starts while allowing just six base runners.
